As you know, I bought an engine that has been in a very severe accident. During the accident, the car not only bottomed out, but it went up a median divider, rode on both sides and then went across the other side of the street and over a sidewalk. The mufflers got ripped off the car very violently.
Upon inspection, I found that the mufflers were completely ripped off, the H pipe was scrapped but everything ahead of that seemed fine. The cats were OK, the Greg D downpipes were OK and the manifolds seemed OK. Is there anything I can do to test the manifolds before dropping the engine in? Anything better than a simple visual test…? If there were a small crack, would it be visible? Thanks, George
